Skip to Main Content2 New Jersey Residents Being Monitored For Potential Hantavirus ExposureHealth officials are monitoring two New Jersey residents for possible hantavirus exposure after they potentially came into contact with an infected person who departed the MV Hondius cruise ship."The residents were not passengers on the ship, and the potential exposure occurred during air travel abroad," Gov. Mikie Sherrill (D) said."Risk to the public remains very low," she continued. "There are no confirmed cases of hantavirus in New Jersey. We will continue to keep residents informed as the situation develops."Following the cruise outbreak, there have been eight reported hantavirus cases, with five confirmed.
