A56-year-old Italian woman was killed at her home in Piacenza in Italy's latest femicide on Friday and her 58-year-old Macedonian husband is sought after confessing over the phone and reporting the crime before fleeing.
After his phone call, Carabinieri and firefighters intervened, entering the sixth-floor apartment through the balcony, since the door wouldn't open, and finding the woman's body.
But the man wasn't there.
The couple apparently had children.
Italy has suffered a spate of shocking femicide cases in recent years.
