At the final whistle, Paris Saint-Germain's players flooded the pitch in ecstasy. The starters, the substitutes, coach Luis Enrique and all his staff shared an intense moment of joy. For long minutes, they embraced and congratulated each other in the middle of the field before launching into an impromptu victory dance in front of their supporters, who had cheered them on tirelessly throughout the evening.
The scenes felt like déjà vu. It was as though they were reliving the same scenes from a year ago, also at the Allianz Arena, where the Parisians had experienced the finest moment in their history. On May 31, 2025, they celebrated their first Champions League crown there after a dominant performance in the final against Inter Milan (5-0).
The Bayern Munich stadium remains the theater of dreams for the capital club. After a spectacular first leg at the Parc des Princes, eight days earlier, in which they took a one-goal advantage (5-4), the reigning champions managed to eliminate Bayern on their home turf after a nail-biting return leg (1-1) on Wednesday, May 6. "It was an unusual match, a magical night, again in Munich, against a great team," forward Désiré Doué told Canal+. "We're at home!" exclaimed Enrique, who had made no secret of his delight before the match at returning to this hallowed ground.
