Kash Patel Says FBI Was Shut Out Of Nancy Guthrie Investigation For 4 DaysFBI Director Kash Patel accused the Pima County Sheriff's Department of keeping his agency out of the investigation into the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie for days in the early stages of the probe."The first 48 hours of anyone's disappearance are the most critical," Patel said in an interview with Sean Hannity released Tuesday. "For four days, we were kept out of the investigation."Patel added that as soon as the FBI was allowed to assist in the probe, he reached out to Google's leadership to get footage from Guthrie's Ring doorbell camera. The FBI later released photos and video of a masked, armed individual outside the home the morning of her disappearance as captured by the surveillance camera."That's why you have that image, because the FBI worked with Google to put that image out," he told Hannity."We could have gotten it days before," Patel continued. In a statement responding to Patel's comments, Sheriff Chris Nanos said a "member of the FBI Task Force was also notified and present at that scene working alongside our personnel" as soon as law enforcement got involved in the case."The FBI was promptly notified by both our department and the Guthrie family. While the FBI Director was not on scene, coordination with the Bureau began without delay," he added. "Decisions regarding evidence processing were made on scene based on operational needs. The laboratory utilized by the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI Laboratory in Quantico have worked in close partnership from the outset and continue to collaborate in the analysis of evidence."Guthrie remains missing.See All UpdatesClose
