Watch as lava shoots out from Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano during a spectacular eruption.

Footage captured by the United States Geological Survey (USGC) shows the molten rock gushing from the geyser on Tuesday (5 May). It began at 8:17 am HST and ended about 9 hours later at 5:22 pm HST.

The USGC has labeled the latest eruption “episode 46 of lava fountaining” since the current activity began in December 2024.
