The Congress on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) offered conditional support to TVK chief Vijay, saying that he shouldn’t seek the support of the lone winner from the BJP in the State, or any alliance partner of the BJP. The decision came after an online meeting of the office bearers of the Congress. The party had earlier claimed that Mr. Vijay has sought their support in government formation in Tamil Nadu and its leadership has directed the State unit to take a final decision on the matter.
