Jimmy Kimmel on Monday said he had a feeling President Donald Trump’s loyal MAGA media followers would find a way to blame him for the hospitalization of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
“Sure enough, one of these podcast bozos points to a joke I made about Rudy on Thursday, about him being a vampire, and then suggests I might actually have some inside knowledge of what’s going on in Trumptown there,” he said.
Kimmel often makes jokes about Giuliani being a vampire and last week cracked that the former mayor “rose from the grave” to record his podcast. But with Giuliani hospitalized with pneumonia days after the joke, figures in right-wing media attacked Kimmel.
“And then that becomes a thing,” Kimmel said in disbelief and rolled footage of a Newsmax panel slamming him for his joke.
“It’s not funny,” one of the panelists declared about his Giuliani joke.
