The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the results of the second-phase lottery for free admissions under Section 12(1)(C) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act for the 2026–27 academic year.

In a statement issued on Tuesday (May 5, 2026), Samagra Shiksha State Project Director B. Srinivasa Rao said a total of 10,453 seats have been allotted in this phase to students from economically weaker sections in private schools. He said that 54,647 students had applied across the State, of whom 54,016 were found eligible. In the first phase, 30,075 students within a 1-km radius of schools were allotted seats. The second phase covered students residing within a 1–5 km radius.

Mr. Rao informed that the details of selected candidates had been communicated to parents via SMS and they were also available on the official website. Parents of students who were allotted seats have been asked to confirm admissions between May 6 and May 17 by visiting the respective schools with required documents, including Aadhaar cards, income and caste certificates, birth certificates, ration cards, and study certificates, he said.

The authorities, meanwhile, have directed school managements to verify documents and grant admissions without delay, warning that action will be taken against institutions denying admission without valid reasons. The process will be monitored by district-level officials under Samagra Shiksha, he clarified.
