The Italian Navy's famous training ship the Amerigo Vespucci, dubbed the most beautiful sailing ship in the world, is about to set sail again after maintenance and repair work and prepare to cross the Atlantic Ocean to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence from Britain.
The Vespucci set sail Monday from La Spezia and is sailing toward Genoa, from where it will depart on May 9th for the North American Campaign, which will take it along the coasts between the United States and Canada.
The ship will visit the main ports of both countries, arriving in New York on July 4, 2026, for the celebration of the 250th anniversary of American Independence.
After the success of the 2023-2025 World Tour and the conclusion of a long ten-month maintenance stop, the Vespucci will continue to bring Italy to the world.
The new adventure, an initiative of the Ministry of Defense and the Italian Navy, produced by Difesa Servizi, will combine the traditional training activities of the Training Ship with the promotion of Made in Italy excellence.
