The police said that arrested persons were identified as N. Gopi, 45, and his accomplice B. Suresh, 23, residents of Katpadi, and were working as wage labourers in the area.

The police said that they saw a specific car in several CCTV footage that was going around near intersections of the town and surrounding farming villages. In one of the footage, they noticed suspects with a few goats in the vehicle.
