Comedian Andrew Schulz is side-eyeing Charlamagne tha God for what he called the radio host “justifying” the latest alleged assassination attempt against President Donald Trump at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner.
During Saturday’s episode of the “Brilliant Idiots” podcast, the conversation kicked off after Charlamagne said the “brutality” of Trump’s illegal immigration crackdown could be a motivating factor for someone to want to murder the president.
“Are you saying that it’s justified because of it?” Schulz questioned, to which Charlamagne quickly said, “No, no.”
Schulz shared that while he didn’t think his co-host was justifying it, he believed people who don’t know Charlamagne “consumed” his previous comments about the shooting that way. He added that people may assume that Charlamagne meant that Trump “deserved” being a target at the media gala shooting.
Last week, after White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt demanded that political rhetoric against Trump and his supporters be “toned down” while blaming Democrats for the shooting, Charlamagne said on an episode of “The Breakfast Club” that he was “sick of that narrative” and argued that the president is “the drama.”
