May 4 (UPI) -- Star Wars fans around the globe are celebrating the franchise Monday on Star Wars Day.
Held each year on May the Fourth, a play on "May the force be with you," the unofficial holiday honors the space opera saga created by George Lucas.
Star Wars first came to life in the 1977 film of the same name and has since inspired multiple sequels, TV series, video games and other media. Here's a list of six upcoming projects in the franchise in recognition of Star Wars Day.
