Kidney disease is emerging as a major public health concern, driven by changing lifestyles, rising cases of diabetes and hypertension, and even heat-related stress and dehydration, experts said at a press conference held in Kalaburagi recently.

Addressing mediapersons, specialists pointed out that environmental and occupational exposure to harmful substances such as heavy metals, pesticides, and industrial chemicals is increasingly being linked to kidney damage and cancers. They stressed the need for greater awareness, early screening, and preventive healthcare to curb the growing burden of kidney disorders.
