Shivamogga

The Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC) is trying to restore flight connectivity between Shivamogga and Bengaluru, according to corporation Chairperson S.G. Nanjayyanmath.

Mr. Nanjayyanmath visited the airport on May 2 to review progress on the night landing facility. Speaking to mediapersons, he said, “IndiGo had suspended operations on the Bengaluru-Shivamogga route with effect from May 1. The corporation is in talks with other airlines to restore services.”

“The KSIIDC Managing Director has reached out to other airlines to operate on the route. We are hopeful that these efforts will bear fruit,” he said.

On the night landing facility, he said work was progressing and that the contractor had assured him of completing the project by the second week of June. “I will visit the airport again in June to review the progress. I am confident the night landing facility will be operational by then,” he said.
