BJP workers, mostly women, participated in a rally to protest against the INDIA bloc for not supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance government’s plan to bring legislations in Parliament to implement the 33% reservation for women in Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections.

The rally led by BJP’s Puducherry unit president V. P. Ramalingam and Home Minister A. Namassivayam started from a point near Venkatasubba Reddiar Statue and culminated at Anna Salai. The Mahila Morcha leaders and party legislators participated in the rally.

In the coming days, party would organise several forms of protests to expose INDIA bloc for opposing the legislations. Seminars involving self-help group members and social organisations have also been planned, Mr Ramalingam said.
