Proceedings before a Bench headed by Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya in the Delhi High Court were disrupted three times on Wednesday (April 29, 2026) after an unidentified participant allegedly gained access to the video conferencing platform and played obscene content during the hearing.
The Bench, also comprising Justice Tejas Karia, was conducting routine court proceedings, which were also accessible through the virtual conferencing (VC) facility, when the first disruption took place during the pre-lunch session.
HC expresses displeasure over disturbances in virtual hearings
The virtual hearing was immediately halted. When the VC session resumed minutes later, the participant allegedly logged in again and repeated the act, prompting court staff to shut down the platform once more. The disruption occurred for a third time after the VC link was reopened, forcing staff to suspend the VC proceedings again.
Later in the post-lunch session, Additional Solicitor General Chetan Sharma mentioned the matter before the Bench and sought action to stop the circulation and dissemination of the recordings of the incident.
