Social activist Sanjay Makal has strongly condemned the recent remarks made by the former BJP MP Pratap Simha comparing AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge to Pakistan’s founder Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Prof. Makal said that the statement is “irresponsible and condemnable” accusing Mr. Simha of distorting historical facts.
“One must understand history before making such remarks,” he said.
He criticised Mr. Simha referring to his association with the RSS and said that he has no moral right to make comment on Mr. Kharge.
Prof. Makal also pointed out that in 2005, the former Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani visited Pakistan and paid respects at Jinnah’s mausoleum suggesting that such historical context is being overlooked.
