The White House is continuing to push for Jimmy Kimmel’s firing hours after the late-night comedian refused to apologize for a joke he made last week about President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump.
“ABC needs to fire him immediately and he should be shunned for the rest of his life,” White House communications director Steven Cheung said of Kimmel in an X post Tuesday, calling him a “shit human being” for making a “disgusting joke about assassinating the President.”
Cheung also scolded Kimmel for “doubling down on that joke instead of doing the decent thing by apologizing.”
Melania Trump has also urged the network to terminate Kimmel.
“It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community,” she wrote Monday on X. “A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him.”
