Cop taken on terrifying joyride by robber before shooting him in the leg

A police officer was taken on a terrifying ride after becoming trapped in a robbery suspect’s getaway car, ultimately having to shoot the man in the leg to stop the vehicle. Officers in Antioch, California, responded to a robbery in progress in the early hours of February 20 this year. After arriving on scene, one officer, Travis Donaldson, ended up being dragged into the suspect’s vehicle and being driven away at high speed. Newly-released bodycam footage shows Donaldson and Dominick DeSouza, 23, wrestling and arguing as DeSouza speeds through the streets, threatening to cause a crash. Donaldson eventually decides to shoot DeSouza in the leg to make him stop. The injured man managed to exit the vehicle but was apprehended a short time later.
