Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy said the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) had “outlived its purpose and lost its relevance in Telangana,” and there was no need for him to wish death to BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao.
“BRS is like a lifeless entity. It has a past, but no future,” he said claiming that if at all someone wished death to Mr. Rao, it must be someone who plans to replace him. “I have already defeated him several times since 2023, besides making him politically irrelevant,” he said in an informal chat with reporters on Monday.
Mr. Reddy refused to respond to the formation of a new party by Ms Kavitha, but said Mr. Rao should respond to her allegations. Her comments also indicate who is unhappy with Mr. Rao’s presence in politics, he claimed.
CBI enquiry
The Chief Minister reiterated his demand for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He reminded that multiple reports, including those by the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA), vigilance authorities, and the Justice Ghose Commission, pointed to alleged flaws in design and quality.
