Bagalkot University will confer honorary doctorate on space scientist S. Nambi Narayanan, Sri Gurumahanth Swami of Chittaragi Shri Vijaya Mahantesha Samsthana Math, Ilkal, and tech-entrepreneur and philanthropist Mahesh Bellad.
The honoris causa degrees will be presented in the university’s first convocation to be held at Darbar Hall on BLDE Association campus in Jamkhandi of Bagalkot district on Friday at 11.30 a.m.
Director of IIM Nagpur Bheemaraya Metri will deliver the convocation address.
Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot, Higher Education Minister M.C. Sudhakar, Vice-Chancellor Anand Deshpande and others will be present.
As many as 1,691 students will be receiving degrees in person. They include 46 gold medal winners.
