Following a 5-3 victory on Tuesday night, the Minnesota Twins wasted no time adding insult to injury for the New York Mets, who suffered their 12th consecutive loss.
The Twins seized the moment with a witty social media post. On X, the team's official account shared a celebratory photo from the game with the tongue-in-cheek caption: “Things that you can get in a dozen: Eggs, Roses, Mets losses.”
During Tuesday’s game against the Twins, the Mets offered a glimmer of hope by surging to a 3-0 lead in the third inning. But Minnesota tied the game in the seventh, thanks to an RBI single from Luke Keaschall.
Mets closer Devin Williams faltered in the ninth, allowing the first three hitters to reach and load the bases, which including back-to-back walks to start the inning. Another RBI single by Keaschall and a bases-loaded walk to Matt Wallner gave the Twins the 5-3 lead they wouldn't relinquish and extended New York’s losing streak to a demoralizing 12 games.
The Mets are back in action on Wednesday night as they look to snap their losing streak against the Twins.
