The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi held high-level talks with General Ronald P. Clark, Commanding General of the United States Army Pacific, in Honolulu, the capital of Hawaii, focusing on strengthening defence cooperation and advancing a shared vision for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
Upon arrival at Fort Shafter, Hawaii, General Dwivedi was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour. “The COAS undertook an aerial tour of Oahu island to gain insights into the U.S. Army’s training ecosystem and multi-domain operational readiness,” the Indian Army’s Additional Directorate General of Public Information posted on social media platform X.
Operation Sindoor underlines Indian Army’s shift from reactive to proactive deterrence, says General Upendra Dwivedi
The visit comes amid growing military engagement between the two countries. Earlier this month, India and the U.S. reaffirmed their strategic defence partnership in high-level Air Force interactions.
Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh visited the U.S. on April 8, where he was hosted by General Kenneth Wilsbach. He received a Guard of Honour upon arrival at the Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, and held meetings at the Pentagon, including talks with Troy Meink, Secretary, U.S. Air Force.
