Andhra Pradesh Inspector General of Police Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) R. Jayalakshmi received the Police Medal for Meritorious Service from Chief Justice of India Surya Kant at a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) event in New Delhi on Monday (April 20, 2026), ACB officials said in a release on Tuesday (April 21, 2026).

The medal was presented at the 22nd D.P. Kohli Memorial Lecture at Bharat Mandapam. The CJI delivered the lecture on the theme “Challenges of Cyber Crime: Role for Police and Judiciary”, and presented the medal to 23 officers and officials of the CBI. The lecture is held annually in memory of D.P. Kohli, the founder Director of the CBI.

ACB to develop network of informants to check corruption in A.P.

Ms. Jayalakshmi, a 2006-batch IPS officer, was awarded the medal on Republic Day 2026. She had been on deputation to the CBI from 2019 to 2024, where she served as SP, ACB, Delhi, and later as DIG and Head of the Bank Securities and Fraud Cell at Bangalore. She has since returned to the Andhra Pradesh cadre as IGP, ACB.
