A headmaster in Vizianagaram district has signed a bond on a ₹50 stamp paper promising quality education to any child admitted to his government school, as part of the Andhra Pradesh government’s week-long Badi Pilusthundhi enrolment drive for the 2026-27 academic year.
Bankapalli Shiva Prasad, headmaster of the government school at Mokalapadu village in Gantyada mandal, has signed the bond and distributed photostat copies to parents and village elders, urging them to choose the government school for their children’s schooling.

Mr. Shiva Prasad has in the past brought students back to the government school from private schools, even after the academic year had begun, for which he has received several awards, the department said.
Speaking to reporters on Tuesday (April 21, 2026), Mr. Shiva Prasad said government schools offered overall growth because they had trained and qualified teachers, classroom infrastructure, a playground and other facilities.
