A marginal drop in the maximum temperatures in Telangana was observed on Monday (April 20, 2026) — when 13 districts were forecast to receive thunderstorms accompanied with lightning. The latter weather conditions were forecast in several districts till end of the week.
While the highest temperatures were a few decimals away from 45℃ from April 16-19, it dropped to 43.4℃ on Monday (April 20, 2026). All districts recorded maximum temperatures above 40℃. Light to very light rain was received in 14 of 621 mandals in the State, according to Telangana Development Planning Society’s (TGDPS) daily weather report.
The highest of 43.4℃ in Bheemaram of Mancherial was followed by 43.3℃ in Dummugudem of Bhadradri Kothagudem and Gadwal in Jogulamba Gadwal; 43.1℃ in Garidepalle in Suryapet; 43.0℃ in Sathnala of Adilabad, Bhainsa in Nirmal and Bheemgal in Nizamabad. In urban districts, the maximum temperature of 41.8℃ was recorded in Medchal Malkajgiri, 41.6℃ in Hyderabad and 41.5℃ in Rangareddy.

In its district level forecast valid till 4.00 p.m. on Tuesday, India Meteorological Department-Hyderabad Centre has forecast light rain and thunderstorms in Jagtial, Vikarabad, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Nalgonda, Mahabubnagar, Nirmal, Narayanpet, Sangareddy,Rajanna Sircilla and Rangareddy
