In a gruesome incident, a three-year-old girl was mauled to death by a pack of stray dogs at Katnapalli village in Sultanabad mandal of Peddapalli district on Monday (April 20, 2026).
The deceased was identified as Divya Behra, the daughter of a migrant labourer couple from Odisha. According to sources, the girl was playing in front of their rented room when the stray dogs attacked her and dragged her away to a nearby agricultural field.
The girl died of multiple injuries on the spot. The shocking incident brought the spotlight back on the unabated menace of stray dogs in several villages in Sultanabad mandal and the pathetic living conditions of the families of migrant workers of various brick kilns in Peddapalli district.
