Public Works Minister and KPCC working president Satish Jarkiholi said on Monday that he believe the party’s action against minority leaders for their alleged role in the bypolls to be “inappropriate” and he had conveyed this to KPCC president and Deputy Chief Minister D.K, Shivakumar.
“He listened patiently and has promised remedial action in this regard,” the Minister told reporters on Tuesday.
“Initiating action against minority leaders in the midst of the election process, for their reported action or inaction is not right. I have made my opinion clear before Mr. Shivakumar,” he told reporters.
He, however, claimed that his meeting with Mr. Shivakumar in Bengaluru recently was about routine party matters and there was no need to attach additional significance to it.
“Minorities are the bulwark of the Congress and they should get proper representation and justice in the party platforms,” he said.
