Indian Railways is operating 908 special trains during the summer season to address the anticipated rise in passenger demand from April 15 to July 15 due to vacations, festivals, and peak travel months.These trains will operate 18,262 trips to cater to the increased travel demand.Out of these, 660 trains have already been notified, accounting for 11,294 trips, ensuring that a substantial portion of the planned services is already available for passenger booking and travel planning well in advance.The Central Railway (3,082 trips), the East Central Railway (2,711 trips) and the North Western Railway (2,245 trips) have emerged as top zones with maximum summer special train trips. The East Central Railway is running trains between Raxaul and Howrah, Gomo and Durgapur. The Southern Railway is running special trains between Chennai and Shalimar and the South Central Railway has introduced special train services from Charlapalli to Jasidih, Muzaffarpur and Barauni for clearing the summer rush.
