Fares had been in a coma since the incident, which reportedly took place on April 11 at a private club in the city’s 9th arrondissement. Her daughters confirmed that she died on Friday.
“It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Nadia Fares this Friday,” they said in a statement to AFP. “France has lost a great artist, but for us, it is above all a mother we have just lost.”
Fares was due to begin work on a new action-comedy project in September, which would have marked her debut as both a screenwriter and director.
