As many as 28 Home Guards working with the Nirmal district police in Telangana have been deployed for the upcoming Tamil Naidu Assembly elections bandobust duty. They left on Sunday ahead of the Assembly polls scheduled for April 23, 2026, the police said.
Nirmal Superintendent of Police G. Janaki Sharmila interacted with the Home Guards at the District Police Headquarters before their departure for the election duty. She called upon them to discharge their designated duties diligently and handed over medical kits to them.
