Expanding its community healthcare outreach, Aster Volunteers, the global CSR arm of Aster DM Healthcare, on Friday launched five new mobile medical units (MMUs) in Bengaluru. With this, the global fleet rose to 76 units, including 54 in India.

The mobile units will provide free primary consultations, screening for non-communicable diseases, maternal and child healthcare services, health education, and referrals for advanced treatment. Equipped with medical-grade facilities, the units are designed to deliver safe and efficient care at the community level, stated a press release..

The newly launched units will be deployed across Ranchi, Kanpur, Bhopal, Jaipur and Bhubaneswar, with a focus on reaching underserved urban populations such as street dwellers, slum residents, the elderly and the homeless.

Flagging off the units, Azad Moopen, founder and chairman of Aster group, said the initiative was aimed at improving access to healthcare at the community level. “By taking essential medical services directly to people, this effort seeks to strengthen last-mile access through preventive screening, early diagnosis and timely intervention,” he said.
