For those who may have missed it: After singing "Hymne à l'amour" by Edith Piaf at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games on July 26, 2024, Céline Dion – the Canadian diva admired around the world – announced on March 30, her 58th birthday, that she would return to live performance with a "residency" of 10 concerts (with six more since added) at Paris La Défense Arena, running from September 12 to October 17.
There was an outpouring on social media and in newsrooms, as well as among Parisian hoteliers and airline operators – travel agency eDreams reported a more than 50% increase in flight searches to Paris for the relevant period.
