Republican Senator Goes On Unhinged Rant Against Muslims: 'That's Not A Religion. That's A Cult.'

Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) disparaged Muslims in an interview Wednesday on “The Benny Show,” calling their religion a “cult.”

“We got these third world people coming here. Are these Muslims? They call it a religion. What religion do you know that says, ‘If you’re not in our religion, we’re going to kill you and we want you dead?’ I mean, that’s not a religion. That’s a cult,” the GOP lawmaker said.

“And they took over Europe. It’s gone. They’re coming here by the thousands. And nobody’s worried about it,” Tuberville added.

Tuberville’s comments came after host Benny Johnson said immigrants should “reject” their home countries if they come to America.

“If you come here from another country and you want to be an American, you then reject that country,” the podcaster said. “That’s no longer your country.”
