‘Daily Show’ correspondent Ronny Chieng called out Vice President JD Vance’s seemingly desperate plea to young voters who have become disillusioned with the war in Iran.
Speaking at a Turning Point USA event in Georgia on Tuesday, Vance had one simple message for those who have broken with the party due to the Trump administration’s Middle East policy.
“I recognize that a lot of young voters don’t love the policy that we have in the Middle East, ok? I understand that,” Vance told a sparse crowd. “What I’m saying is don’t get disengaged because you disagree with the administration on one topic. Get more involved. Make your voice heard even more. That’s how we ultimately take the country back.”
Chieng summed up the tenor of Vance’s message as something you would usually hear in a romantic comedy rather than a political speech.
“JD Vance managed to inspire the crowd with his stirring message of ‘Please don’t leave me,’” Chieng said.
