April 16 (UPI) -- A Michigan woman won a $1 million lottery prize back home following a trip to Las Vegas.
Sarah Tawwater, 44, of Grosse Ile had just touched down in "The Gambling Capital of the World" when she received a phone call informing her she was chosen as a Michigan Lottery Million Maker Second Chance contestant.
"I was in disbelief and had to sit down while I processed the news because these types of things just don't happen in real life, or at least that's what I thought," she told officials.
Tawwater was one of five finalists to take part in the lottery event April 8 at the Detroit Pistons game, where she won the grand prize of $1 million.
"When the wheel was spinning, I thought it was going to tick over to red, so when it stopped on blue all I could think was: 'There's no way!' I think I just went into shock," she recalled. "The whole experience still feels surreal."
