Conservative influencer Emily Austin on Tuesday defended President Donald Trump after he shared an artificial intelligence-generated image that portrayed him as a Christ-like figure, arguing the president didn’t lie in claiming he thought it depicted him as a doctor.
Austin, who debated the matter during a CNN panel discussion on “NewsNight” after widespread criticism led Trump to delete the post, said, “I don’t think Trump lied about the post, and I’m not here to defend every action that he makes.”
Austin did just that when asked if she believed Trump misinterpreted the image.
“I want to tell you that Trump didn’t AI that photo,” Austin told fellow panelist and “View” co-host Ana Navarro. “The original post, was it Nick Adams who posted it originally? So, he posted that many, many months ago, calling Trump the healer of the nation.”
She continued, “Now, I’m not crazy. I have eyes. I could see how people are like, ‘Oh, Trump is portraying himself as Jesus Christ.’ But, A, he took it down. B, this isn’t really that surprising to anyone. And, C, that’s not— if the person who created the photo is denying that—”
