Endowments Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy criticised YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) president Y.S. Jagan Mojhabn Reddy for ‘warning’ Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu against ‘privatising the fishing harbours’ and declaring that the Sagar Defence Engineering’s autonomous maritime shipyard at Juvvaladinne in Nellore district would be ‘’shifted’ once the party stages a comeback.

He said that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy had no moral right to speak about the fishing harbour projects, having inaugurated the Juvvaladinne harbour even before it was completed in 2019-24 and enacted a similar drama in respect of irrigation projects.

“The TDP-Jana Sena Party- BJP alliance came to power as the people trusted it. We have 164 MLAs and your (YSRCP) strength is just 11. What stature do you have to warn Mr. Naidu?” Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy asked, while advising the YSRCP not to play with the lives of the fisherfolks.

Addressing the media at the TDP central office near Mangalagiri on Wednesday, Mr. Ramanarayana Reddy asked what Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy achieved from his Juvvaladinne visit other than making baseless criticisms and blaming the government.

“Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s words carry no weight as he has a dubious record of claiming credit for incomplete projects. Several harbours and projects were inaugurated amid great fanfare during the YSRCP’s tenure, but were left unfinished,” he said.
