King Charles III and Queen Camilla will travel to the United States from April 27 to 30 for a four-day trip marking America’s 250th anniversary with planned stops in Washington, D.C., New York and Virginia.

The visit will be the first state visit by a British monarch since Queen Elizabeth II traveled to the U.S. in 2007 and will include a White House reception, an address to Congress by the king and a formal state dinner.

“The visit will be an opportunity to recognize the shared history of our two nations; the breadth of the economic, security and cultural relationship that has developed since then, and the deep people-to-people connections which unite communities,” according to a release from the UK Embassy on Tuesday, April 14.
