Patek Philippe 50 Years Nautilus desk clock, unveiled at Watches & Wonders 2026 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Gerald Genta designed watch.Patek Philippe Definitively one of the “holy trinity” watch brands, Patek Philippe has been wowing watch lovers and collectors with its technical prowess and innovations since its inception in 1839. With the Watches & Wonders Geneva 2026 show taking place now—the largest and most important international exhibition for timepieces annually—watch pundits around the world have all eyes on the brand, especially since it’s celebrating the 50th anniversary of one of its icons, the Nautilus. To honor that milestone, family-owned Patek Philippe releases a series of three new Nautilus watches and one superb desk clock. The Nautilus is easily one of the most identifiable sport chic watches on the market—both new Nautilus watches and second-hand and vintage pieces. Originally conceived of by watch designer Gerald Genta in the early 1970s, the Nautilus is based on a ship’s porthole but with gentler curves, a sharp octagonal bezel and a dial pattern with horizontal lines recalling a ship’s deck. The first Nautilus was brought to fruition by Patek Philippe in 1976 and was an immediate hit. In fact, over the years, the waiting list for certain Nautilus watches has easily ventured beyond a five-year period. Patek Philippe 50 Years Nautilus anniversary watch. Patek Philippe An icon in watchmaking history, the Nautilus never disappoints, and as the brand celebrates 50 years of evolution, this year is no exception to that rule. Of the four new Nautilus watches released this week in Geneva, the standout piece is the new 50 Years Desk Clock, Ref. 958G-001. Crafted in 18-karat white gold and measuring 50.65mm in diameter, the clock offers calendar functions of day and date, as well as a power reserve indicator, in addition to hours and minutes. MORE FOR YOUA tour around the blue dial showcases elegant harmony, with the power reserve indicator shaped like an arch beneath the 12:00 position and the day/date beneath it and above 6:00. The date is shown on a round subsidiary dial, while the day of the week is displayed via an aperture within the subdial. The markers are baguette-cut diamonds. The new Nautilus 50 Year pieces are offered in white gold or in platinum depending on the model. This 41mm version is based on the brand's historic "Jumbo" watch.Patek Philippe The watch is powered by a manually wound mechanical movement and boasts a hinged case back (much like a pocket watch) that opens to reveal a sapphire crystal and a stunning view of the complex movement. Just 100 pieces will be made. The three wristwatch models—all 50 Years Nautilus references—are more subdued, with slim cases and classic Patek Philippe style. The 50 Years Nautilus Ref. 5610/1P-001 is a 38mm platinum watch with a platinum bracelet and classic blue dial. Offering just hours and minutes via the mechanical Caliber 240 ultra-thin movement, it is water resistant to 30 meters. The 50 Years Nautilus Ref. 5810G-001 recalls the brand’s Jumbo from decades ago but measures just 41mm in diameter. Crafted in 18-karat white gold with matte and polish finish, the watch boasts a blue dial and navy composite integrated strap with a textile or fabric pattern for sporty chic appeal. Also powered by the mechanical Caliber 240, it offers hours and minutes. Just 1,000 pieces will be made. Another version of this watch boasts an integrated white gold bracelet and is made in a 2,000-piece limited edition. The rotors on each of these watches are crafted in 22-karat gold and engraved with the reference “50 1976-2026” indicating the 50th anniversary. While the Nautilus watches are not the biggest announcement from the brand at this year’s show, with new Rare Handcraft pieces, a minute repeater, a new Cubitus complicated piece and a grand complication sky/moon piece, they are most likely the ones avid collectors will jump on. The prices have not yet been solidified as of press time, but it’s anticipated that the white gold versions will sell for about $78,000 to $94,000 and the platinum watch will retail for CHF 90,000 (about $115,000).
