The Andhra Pradesh government is high on emerging technologies, and it aims to take advantage of the cutting-edge research. Now that it has the proof of concept established with two open-access quantum reference facilities (quantum computers), the State will be focusing on creating an ecosystem for other technologies, which can work in tandem with quantum computing, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has said.

Mr. Naidu, after inaugurating the Amaravati Quantum Reference Facilities at SRM University at Neerukonda and Medha Towers in Gannavaram (virtually), had an exclusive interaction with the representatives of national media.

“We created the open-access quantum testing facilities in record time. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was tremendously supportive through the National Quantum Mission in terms of handholding. I am thankful to him. Going forward, our focus will be leveraging on quantum deeptech, drones, space and green hydrogen, etc,” the Chief Minister said

He further detailed how different technological avenues are being created across the State to cater to manufacturing and research in multiple segments.

“We are starting drone city for civilians and defence, a space city is already in the making, and two firms are involved in the work. Apart from this, the production of green hydrogen is undertaken to reduce dependence on fossil fuels substantially. We are creating industrial hubs for electronics, medical equipment, solar semiconductors, panel manufacturing etc and they are in different stages of development,” the Chief Minister said.
