The police or the legal authorities stepping in to resolve a paternity issue is not uncommon, but what unfolded in a locality in Seshadripuram was nothing short of bizarre.
A neighbourhood dispute over the “custody” of four kittens took an unusual turn, necessitating the intervention by the Bengaluru City Police, who ultimately brokered a peaceful settlement between two families.
The incident, reported in the limits of the Seshadripuram Police Station, began after a resident’s male pet cat allegedly mated with a neighbour’s female cat, which later gave birth to four kittens.
Heated argument
Tensions escalated when the female cat’s owners brought the kittens to their neighbour’s house and demanded that the latter assume responsibility for raising them, claiming their pet was the “father”. The demand soon led to a heated argument between the two sides.
