The Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice of India Surya Kant on Tuesday (April 14, 2026) recommended the appointments of new judges in Kerala and Karnataka High Courts, a majority of whom are women advocates and judicial officers.
In a resolution, the collegium proposed for appointment of Preeta Aravindan Krishnamma and Liz Mathew Anthraper as judges of the Kerala High Court. Ms. Mathew is a senior advocate practising in the Supreme Court.
The collegium has recommended judicial officers Rajeshwari Narayana Hegde, Kedambadi Ganesh Shanthi and Mahadevappa Brungesh to the Karnataka High Court Bench.
A separate collegium resolution has approved the proposal for appointment of Justice Manjusha Ajay Deshpande, Additional Judge as Permanent Judge of the Bombay High Court.
A fourth collegium resolution sought the appointment of Justices Yara Renuka, Nandikonda Narsing Rao, E. Tirumala Devi and B.R. Madhusudhan Rao as permanent judges of the Telangana High Court.
