The Delhi police have registered an FIR for assaulting a serving Brigadier and his son and misbehaving with his wife after they objected to a group of men drinking outside their house in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar. The FIR was lodged on Monday (April 13, 2026) evening, 45 hours after the incident on Saturday (April 12, 2026) night, alleged Tejas Arora, the son of Brigadier P.S. Arora.
In her complaint to the police, the Army officer’s wife, Nitasha Arora, stated that the assault happened in the presence of police personnel whom they had called earlier.
“Cognisance of the matter has been taken, and an FIR has been registered. The accused persons are being traced. During preliminary inquiry, lapses were found on the part of the Inspector (Investigation), and he has been transferred to District Lines,” said DCP (South West) Amit Goel.
The police said an FIR has been registered under Sections 115(2) (causing hurt voluntarily), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(2) (criminal intimidation), 79 (outraging the modesty of a woman), 191(2) (rioting), and 190 (common liability) of the BNS on the basis of Ms. Nitasha’s complaint, and investigation into the matter has begun.
However, the police did not respond to the specific question of why it took nearly two days to file an FIR.
