Rock returns to the spotlight for the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction class, with Iron Maiden, Billy Idol and Oasis among the eight new additions.
The lineup also features a lone female inclusion: Sade.
The newest entrants, announced during the live broadcast of the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night” episode of “American Idol" on April 13, are:
The chosen group was culled from a crop of 17 hopefuls, 10 of whom appeared on the ballot for the first time and spanned rock, hip-hop, pop, soul and Latin music. Collins, Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan were first-time balloters.
Those who didn't make the cut are The Black Crowes, Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey, Melissa Etheridge, Lauryn Hill, INXS, Pink, Shakira and fan vote winner New Edition.
