A total of 1289 graduands were conferred degrees at the 60th Graduation Day of Lady Doak College, here on Monday.
Chairperson of India Electronics and Semiconductor Association (IESA) and Co-founder and President of Tessolve Semiconductor, Bengaluru V. Veerappan, in his address, encouraged the students to take responsibility for their future by nurturing a clear vision, thinking big and striving for excellence.
He underscored the importance of values such as humility, respect, gratitude and aspiration. He also stressed the need for self-motivation, lifelong learning and making meaningful career choices. Advising the students to become ambassadors of peace he highlighted the significance of choosing the right life partner, exploring the world and understanding diverse cultures.
He emphasised that true fulfilment lies not in wealth alone but in service to others. He called upon the graduates to give back to their alma mater and contribute to national development, he noted the need for greater innovation in India.
Principal R. Beulah Jeyashree presented the annual report. She also administered the pledge to the graduates. The students were awarded prizes for outstanding proficiency in their respective subjects. Vice-Principal R. Nimma Elizabeth welcomed the gathering and former Student President R. Shenbaga Harshini proposed a vote of thanks.
