The House Ethics Committee said Monday it's investigating whether Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-Calif.) broke rules or laws "with respect to allegations that he may have engaged in sexual misconduct, including towards an employee working under his supervision."
Swalwell suspended his campaign for governor after multiple former staffers on Friday accused him of sexual misconduct. Multiple lawmakers have said Swalwell should resign from Congress or be expelled by the House.
The House Ethics Committee investigation could take weeks or months before the committee announces its findings.
