April 13 (UPI) -- The San Antonio Zoo announced the births of two critically endangered cotton-top tamarin twins in its Neotropica area.
The zoo said the "tiny bundles of energy" were born in late March and "are already stealing hearts as they bond with their family troop in our Neotropica area."
Officials said twin births are common among tamarins, accounting for roughly 80% of all pregnancies for the species.
