A woman identified as Mallempudi Lakshmi Tulasi, who had come to attend the Public Grievances Redressal System (PGRS) at the NTR Collectorate, allegedly sprinkled chilli powder in the Land Acquisition office and staged a protest, claiming that the compensation paid for her land was insufficient.
She claimed that the officers paid more compensation to other land owners. Despite lodging several complaints with the officials, she alleged that no action was taken.
During the enquiry, it was revealed that the government acquired 28 square metres of land located in Anasagaram mandal, Nandigama mandal, NTR District, from Lakshmi Tulasi. According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the government paid her a compensation of ₹6,51,821.
However, NTR district Collector G. Lakshmisha directed the Nandigama Mandal Revenue Officer (MRO) to re-verify the records and submit a report on the compensation paid to Ms. Lakshmi Tulasi.
The complainant did not attend the PGRS, but entered the Land Acquisition office and sprinkled chill powder, the officials clarified.
