A judge dismissed President Donald Trump's defamation lawsuit against the Wall Street Journal for alleging he sent Jeffrey Epstein a lewd birthday note.

Florida federal Judge Darrin P. Gayles ruled that Trump didn't make a plausible allegation in his lawsuit that the Wall Street Journal and its owner, Rupert Murdoch, published the story with "actual malice," a legal term referring to publishing something while either knowing it was false or with a reckless disregard for whether or not it's false.

Trump is allowed to amend his lawsuit to address the issue and re-file it by April 27, Gayles ruled.

This is a developing story that will be updated.
